More on Ware

The Independent on Sunday's weekend magazine, The Sunday Review, is serializing Chris Ware's new series, "Building Stories," originally published in The New York Times Magazine, over the next 24 weeks. The first three weeks are already up here, with an introduction by way of an apology from Ware here. In it, he references Ethel and Ernest by Raymond Briggs, which is just wonderful and heartwarming. Another example of an artist who cares for the history of everyday objects with the eye of a nostalgist.

I'm thrilled to see the archive going up online; I failed to see all of them when they first appeared, so it will be nice to fill in the gaps.

UPDATE: I now realize that I somehow missed this story when it went around the litblogs a month ago; sorry for being behind the times. Then again, I'd be happy to mention Ware once a month regardless of currency.
