Sassy made me do it
Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 06:20PM In high school, all the love I had to give to the world was divided between boys and music, pretty much right down the middle, a drooling, swooning, hormonal, angst-ridden 50/50 split. This Nerve article (via Bookslut) highlights all too clearly why Sassy was my bible, my gateway drug into the world of band practice in the basement, REM record flats on the wall, crushes on British bands, baby doll dresses, and sensitive indie boy prom dates.
(These days, my crushes have upgraded to the more grown-up category of "authors," which is why I'm trying to figure out a way to project a loop of this David Mitchell video onto the wall in our bedroom without The Husband objecting.)
For more on Sassy, go check out a Sassy retrospective and the lost issue at the now also defunct blairmag (the online zine of an old irc friend of mine... where are you now, Richard?)
david mitchell,
