Blocked

Tonight we're hosting some friends visiting from Australia, and I fear there may be Rusty Nails involved. I wanted to complete today's post before the night began, but found myself today facing a gigantic creative wall.

Seeing as I promised to post every day, however, post I will, by pointing you to Derek Powazek's own NaBloPoMo post on getting past creative blocks. Many ideas are from a web designer's perspective, but I think they work for anyone involved in a creative process.

Remember that you have a vast ocean of creativity within you. When you’re under pressure and blocked, you may start to feel like your creativity is finite. Maybe it’s run out! (I’ve literally had this conversation with friends before. I was convinced I had a limited number of designs in me, and I thought I’d just used the last one.) But that’s just the block talking. There’s always another design, another story, another work of art within you.
