So. This silence around here. This hush. Sorry about that. I'm mostly curled up in bed with my books, hands tucked around cups of hot cocoa, watching the windows of the building across the way that slowly glow brighter and brighter with twinkling lights. And thinking. Mostly, thinking.

I've noted with an ounce of shock that if you take the past few posts together and try to gain some sort of context out of them, you end up with a slightly depressed and angry person who'd rather not interact with the world. Quite the contrary: there have been holiday parties, eggnog, Charlie Brown Christmas Specials, and gift shopping. I just don't have the time to make it sound prettier than that.

And anyway, gift-giving aside, sometimes it's nice to take in more than you give out.
