Uh, yeah. No kidding. I was running the risk of turning this place into a grossly uninformed mess of a love letter to Alex Chilton. (Who, I might add, is still alive and kicking and making music, which makes this all feel so much creepier. I'm slowly becoming that woman who has a special room wallpapered with magazine cutouts of her favorite star and then tries to get him to come visit so she can show him her special room in the hopes that he'll be flattered. I do not want to be that woman.)

So, this happened.

I'm about two years too late to this platform (and, fittingly, 30+ years too late to Big Star), but suddenly, for this purpose, to get the rest of the stuff out of the way, it seemed so right. Not just Big Star stuff, but everything that makes me as happy as listening to "The Ballad of El Goodo" does. Things I love that feel too fan-girl for here, things I'm afraid might be temporary, things about which I have nothing further to add to the conversation. That goes there. That can live there.

So that the rest of my thoughts can go about their merry, bloggy business.
